Supply Kits

Kits are supplied as single tube mailers and as four tube mailers.

Single tube mailers: small Styrofoam box and corresponding sleeve along with a completed test request form may be used for a single yellow top, red top, blue top or serum separator (SST) tube.

Four tube mailers: larger Styrofoam box and corresponding sleeve along with a completed test request form may be used for multiple specimens for one patient. It includes two yellow top tubes, a blue top tube and a red top tube.

If your facility has serum separator tubes (SST) or red top vacutainer tubes, these may be sent instead of BL red top tubes. These should be centrifuged before sending so that the red cells can be separated from the serum.

• Yellow: contains Michel's transport medium for biopsy specimens for direct immunofluorescence (DIF).
• Red: contains no preservative. Serum can be transferred to this tube.
• Blue: contains buffered formalin for biopsy specimens for light microscop
